Experience packages include several cards that, when combined, may help you solve your daily challenges for a common life scenario, such as a stressful week or going on vacation. They work well together, but each card also works well on its own. You should give each package a two-week trial period. This provides you with enough time and a good pace to hold yourself accountable. You can try as many cards as you want in these two weeks, depending on how much time or energy you have available. Of course, if you do more, you can expect more, but some weeks allow for little progress, which is also fine.

Take 5 minutes out of your hectic day to enjoy a piece of chocolate or a slice of cake alone. Sip a cup of coffee or tea to enhance the experience. It will feel soothing to both the body and the soul, but only if you know a little trick.

It may surprise you to learn that a small amount of sugar and fat can suppress the stress hormone cortisol in your blood within 30 minutes. The best feelings are associated with up to 300kcal, or up to 20-30g of sugar and up to 20-25g of fat. This means that if you’re having whipped cream on top of your coffee or hot chocolate, 2-3 small biscuits should suffice.

A combination of hot beverage and sweetness is not only more satiating for your body, but it can easily become a daily ritual. Spice things up with some coffee spice or dried fruit tea.

Pitfalls

If you consume more than 300kcal (approximately 20-30g of sugar and 20-25g of fat), your blood sugar will rise and then fall, and you will become irritable within 1-2 hours. You won’t overdo it on taste or calories this way.

You do not need to count calories, but be cautious of extra additives, such as coffee spice, due to their high sugar content. For more enjoyment, sprinkle your drink once or twice per glass, but not per sip.

On the other end of the spectrum, you may be tempted to avoid sugar entirely and eat a low-sugar, low-fat snack to limit insulin release. You may feel better in the short run, but the problem is that it is exactly a spike in insulin that suppresses the stress hormone cortisol. Who would have guessed that it is the bad guys who come to your aid in times of need? You may even change your mind about sugar and fat after going through this experience.

Every two weeks, you can choose one experience package (and further cards), that have been personally recommended to you. For example, if you previously selected “Busier than usual,” you could now select “Stressful weeks” or “Give me a break” to continue. This is how you can make progress even when life throws unexpected turns at you. A membership also allows you to join the community and browse cards created by others for life experiences that may be similar to yours.

You can make an experience card to remember a special occasion or to share your own tried-and-true tips and tricks with family, friends, and coworkers.
